Accra:Mostly cloudy to sunny skies, along with warm weather, are forecast across Taiwan on Friday and Saturday. However, brief showers may occur in northern and northeastern Taiwan on Friday, as reported by the Central Weather Administration (CWA).
According to Focus Taiwan, daytime temperatures are expected to reach 29-31 degrees Celsius in Keelung and the eastern half of Taiwan, while temperatures elsewhere could rise to 31-34 degrees. The CWA predicts that showers might occur along the coast of Keelung City, in Yilan County in northeastern Taiwan, and Hualien County in the east on Friday.
Independent meteorologist Wu Der-rong indicated that daytime temperatures would remain relatively high, a phenomenon locally referred to as an "autumn tiger," or a lingering fall heat wave. Some areas may experience highs of up to 35 degrees Celsius. Wu also mentioned that partly cloudy skies with occasional brief showers are anticipated in the eastern half of Taiwan through October 20, while other regions can expect mostly sunny and stable weather.
Wu further noted that based on the latest forecasting models, northeasterly winds are expected to strengthen on October 21, bringing cooler temperatures and rain to parts of Taiwan. Regarding Tropical Storm Champi, the latest CWA forecast places the storm east of Guam, moving in a west-northwesterly direction. European model simulations suggest that Champi could make a significant turn northeast over waters south of Japan, though its path remains uncertain.
