2026 Taiwan Foxconn Ladies Golf Tournament Joins JLPGA Tour

Taipei: The Taiwan Ladies Professional Golfers' Association (TLPGA) and the Japan Ladies Professional Golfers' Association (JLPGA) have announced that the 2026 Taiwan Foxconn Ladies Golf Tournament will officially be included as part of the JLPGA tour. This marks the first time in 46 years that the JLPGA has included an overseas event, positioning Taiwan as the only overseas stop on the tour in 2026.

According to Focus Taiwan, the tournament's purse has been increased to a record US$2 million, making it the second-highest prize pool on the JLPGA circuit. Japanese golfer Yui Kawamoto and Japan-based Taiwanese golfer Wu Chia-yen were present at the press conference where this development was announced.

Kawamoto, who is set to compete in the TLPGA event, remarked that this was her first visit to Taiwan. She noted the country's hospitality and strong ties with Japan, which provided her with a sense of security. She expressed her hopes that the tournament will allow fans to experience the dynamic nature of women's golf.

Wu, who is 21 years old, captured her first JLPGA title in November 2025. The 2026 Taiwan Foxconn Ladies Golf Tournament is scheduled to take place from March 12-15 at the Orient Golf and Country Club in Taoyuan.
