Taipei: Online registration for the 2025 Taipei 101 Run Up, a race up Taipei's landmark skyscraper, begins at noon Thursday, organizers said Wednesday. Taipei 101's chairperson Janet Chia announced that the 5,200 spots for the race scheduled for May 3 are expected to sell out quickly.
According to Focus Taiwan, Chia stated at a news conference that the Taipei 101 Run Up is one of Taiwan's most recognized competitive events. She also mentioned that 15 percent of the registration fees will benefit four charities: Basegarden, Teach For Taiwan, World Vision, and CTBC Charity Foundation.
Chou Szu-chi, a former professional baseball player and founder of Basegarden, was named "ambassador" for the event. Speaking at the news conference, Chou remarked that the challenge of running up Taiwan's tallest building "should be quite exhausting."
