Taipei:Taiwan's main stock index experienced a positive start on Wednesday, opening up 306.56 points. The initial level of the index was recorded at 46,402.79.

According to Focus Taiwan, the turnover for the stock exchange at the opening was NT$11.37 billion, equivalent to approximately US$350.63 million.
