Taipei:Taiwan's stock market experienced a significant drop, closing 3.41% lower on Thursday. The shares fell by 1,655.96 points, ending the day at 46,969.87.

According to Focus Taiwan, the market saw a turnover of NT$1.32 trillion, equivalent to US$40.98 billion.
