Taipei: The U.S. dollar rose against the Taiwan dollar Thursday, gaining NT$0.008 to close at the day's high of NT$31.428. The day's trading session saw a total turnover of US$1.656 billion.

According to Focus Taiwan, the greenback opened at NT$31.410 and reached a low of NT$31.379 before rebounding. The movement marks a significant close for the U.S. dollar on the Taipei forex market.
