President Yoon Suk Yeol has promoted Jeong Hye-jeon, a deputy secretary for public relations at the presidential office, as the new presidential spokesperson, his office said Monday.Jeong worked as a reporter and anchor for various newspapers, including the Chosun Ilbo and Segye Times, before working for private companies, such as McKinsey and Company.Since late last year, she has served as a deputy secretary at the public relations planning office at the presidential office."We expect the new spokesperson to become an excellent communication partner with the media moving forward," Lee Do-woon, senior presidential secretary for public relations, said during a briefing.Yoon also appointed Kim Soo-kyung, the presidential spokesperson, as the new vice minister at the unification ministry.Moon Seoung-hyun, the current vice unification minister, is said to have been tapped as the new ambassador to France.Source: Yonhap News Agency
