Taipei: Taiwan-based Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. (Foxconn) has reported its highest-ever sales for the month of August, driven primarily by robust shipments of artificial intelligence (AI) server racks.According to Focus Taiwan, the electronics assembler and AI server supplier announced consolidated sales of NT$606.51 billion (US$19.91 billion) for August. This figure represents a 10.61 percent increase compared to the same month last year, although it marks a slight 1.2 percent decline from July. The surge in sales is attributed to strong demand for AI and cloud services, which bolstered growth in Hon Hai's cloud and networking products. The company anticipates that its sales from the "rack solution" will triple on a quarter-on-quarter basis in the third quarter. While the electronic components segment saw year-on-year growth, revenue from Hon Hai's computing products and smart consumer electronics divisions experienced a decline, impacted by exchange rate factors. For the January to August period, H on Hai's consolidated sales rose by 16.65 percent year-on-year to reach NT$4.66 trillion, setting a record high for the period.Looking forward, Hon Hai projects a 170 percent year-on-year increase in third-quarter AI server sales, surpassing the 60 percent annual growth it achieved in the second quarter. Despite this optimistic outlook, the company remains cautious about its full-year results, citing geopolitical uncertainties, tariffs, and currency fluctuations as potential challenges.
