Tainan: A magnitude 4.6 earthquake struck Tainan City, southern Taiwan, at 7:23 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Central Weather Administration (CWA).According to Focus Taiwan, the epicenter of the temblor was located 39.5 kilometers east northeast of Tainan County Hall, in Nanxi District, at a depth of 14.3 km, CWA data showed. The intensity of the quake, gauging the actual effect of a seismic event, was highest in Tainan and Chiayi County, where it measured a 4 on Taiwan's 7-tier intensity scale, the data indicated.It also measured 3 in Kaohsiung City, Chiayi City, Yunlin, and Chuanghua counties, according to CWA data. There were no immediate reports of damage following the quake.
